One of my favorite pictures of Kadin.  I think he looks like a cool hepcat in a 40s swing club.  

I was going to photoshop out the random dog hair near his eyeball, but decided it's so fitting to his lifestyle that I'd leave it.  The milk on his lower lip is pretty cute too.

Now that Kadin is a bit older, and can see more than 8 inches away, he enjoys the walks more and likes looking at the scenery.  Green leaves against the sky is his favorite.

August 22, 2014 - 39 Days Old

 What a long exciting day for Kadin.  Started out with a leisurely morning in bed, trying out his milk goatee and then off we went, biking down to town to do errands - library, Jen's shower, and a visit to TAT to say hi to Danial and the crew.  By the time we biked back home, avoiding 4 moose along the way, Kadin was ready for bed!

Both of us love my new-to-me pirate-themed sling, so easy to wear him around the house, and then just slip it off and he stays asleep bundled up in it - yes!

(The naked ladies on the sling are definitely a bonus.)

I'm really bad at just picking one photo... but this was a big adventure day for Kadin.  His first plane ride!!  

We went just a short hop to a gravel bar on the Chulitna River; so nice to get out to the peaceful quiet of a big river.  The dogs had even more fun!

One month old today, and lots of milestones happening - he's able to lift his head more on his own, he's focusing on things farther and farther away (like Bucky!), and he's smiling at me!

One sleepy but blissful momma and one happily snuggling and sleeping baby.

At first, Bucky was a bit reluctant to share his bed with Kadin, but he eventually realized that Kadin didn't do much or take up much space, so why not.  Meanwhile, Kadin was fascinated by Bucky's furry red face!

August 12, 2014 - 29 Days Old

Trying out our new potty!  He is mostly still in diapers but I like to give him some diaper free time during feedings and a few hours during the day.  (I'm also usually just holding him with the pail between my legs.)

Here's Buck, taking a nap next to Kadin's basket.  Buck loves kids and I am so looking forward to the two of them growing up together.

Today was Kadin's baby party!! 

First, Kadin prepped for the party with a good bath and nap.  

Then, the whole family biked over (Danial, me, Kadin and the 4 dogs), stopping at a lake so I could take a dip to help wake up and wash off all the accummulated spit-up and pee.  

Melis was our gracious host and served up lots of yummy waffles and sangria. Kadin enjoyed being loved by all and my arms enjoyed the break as well.

Biked down to Live At Five today for Kadin's social debut.  He slept through most of it but that didn't stop everyone else from enjoying him.

His first bath was in a double recliner claw foot bathtub with me and he LOVED it,  but it went unrecorded.  Here's his second bath.  He still enjoyed it, perhaps not quite as much and I can't say I blame him!

August 6, 2014 - 23 Days Old

Back to the doctor's for a well-visit check-up.  He's 21' (when those chubby little legs are stretched out) and 8 1/2 pounds. 

In the afternoon, strapped his car seat into Annie's DoggyRide and took him out on his first bike riding adventure!  He did great for all 8 miles, even when it started pouring down raining and I had to jump off and close the plastic cover for the last 1/4 mile.  

Kadin and I were accompanied by Danial on her bike with Annie being towed behind in her carrier and Buck, Rivet, and Rudder pulling out in front.  When we manage to capture a pic of the whole shebang, I'll definitely post it!

Kadin likes the cozy reclining comfort of his Boppy pillow - keeps the formula in his stomach, where it belongs, and not shooting out his nose like some milk-demented dragon.
