September 30, 2014 - 78 Days Old

Crazy long day driving from Girdwood back to Talkeetna, with two doctor's appointments for Kadin in between.  We were so exhausted, we forgot to take a picture of him!  

This pic is from a few days prior, but sums up Kadin's day perfectly – stuck in the car seat all day long.

What a fun day!  Started out with a cute photo at 5:30am, back to sleep for a bit, then a visit to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to check out the musk ox and other animals, and finally, a hike to the top of the tramway (Grandma Baiba and Grandpa Butchie took the easy way up and were waiting for us at the top.)

To celebrate, we tried out the new-to-us running/biking/skiing stroller.  Beautiful 

fall colors with summer temperatures so I couldn't resist taking a quick dip into 

X Lake to cool off in the middle of my run.

Danial had off today and took care of Kadin for most of the day, while I saw a vet appointment and just got some other things done.  So, midnight came around and I realised I hadn't taken any picture of him yet!  These two pictures I took just after his midnight feeding. 

(They aren't the best quality because it was actually really dark and I had to do quite a bit of adjustments to them...)

It was a bit blustery out at Peters Hills, but the morning sunshine felt nice and Kadin was happy to be bundled up and with me.

After 4 hours of interviews for our home study, we finally finished it and went over to Danial's to chillax a bit with the cats.  Kadin seemed to like to look at Birch's furry face but thought his tail a bit itchy.

We're all exhausted after a 3 day marathon of getting prepped for our home-study.  Today was our first meeting with our inspector and so far, so good.  Kadin made an appearance towards the end, and I'm sure he was a charmer!

We reintroduced swaddling last night, and what a success.  

He was up at 10pm, 3am, and here he is at 8:30am, still asleep!  Yay!
