April 30, 2015 - 9 Months, 16 Days Old

We've been going to Storytime at the library for a few weeks now, but I finally remembered to get a photo of it.  Lots of kids of all ages!

He's always making some random (albeit, cute) noises, which gets all of the kids to turn and look at him.  Future class clown?  Uh oh!

April 29, 2015 - 9 Months, 15 Days Old

Kadin's first swim lesson today!  

Of course, his favorite thing to do was have me race around the pool as fast as I could so he could feel the velocity of water on his legs.  He got bored and grumpy when we just slowly walked with him extended out on his stomach.  On his back was ok but a bit nerve-wracking when I moved him away from my body… Too cute.

Hope to eventually get some actual water pics soon!

April 28, 2015 - 9 Months, 14 Days Old

We had a mellow day at home today, except for another recycling meeting at the Roadhouse in the evening.  Kadin got bored at the meeting and decided to explore the area on his own.

April 27, 2015 - 9 Months, 13 Days Old

Kadin's first day at Day Care!!!  I think we were both pretty excited about it.  He got to play with LOTS of new toys and a few new friends and I got to run around and actually get a few things done.

April 26, 2015 - 9 Months, 12 Days Old

Kadin loves drinking out of my water bottle, but he unfortunately gets so excited about it, he flings his head back and pours it all over him.  It was a warm day out, but still he needed a full clothing change after that drink!

April 25, 2015 - 9 Months, 11 Days Old

Big day for Kadin… First we went to the local Earth Day celebration, where Kadin got to see live owls and taste some yummy curry.  Then, that evening, we went to an awesome little cul-de-sac party, with tons of kids and dogs running around like crazy.  He definitely enjoyed himself and slept well tonight!

It's a Great Grey Owl, in permanent captivity due to the loss of her left eye.

Kadin decided to demonstrate the many ways to put himself in danger.
Firstly, by breaking apart his snake toy and trying to swallow the pieces, and secondly… 

By chewing on and wrapping himself up in the cords for the window blinds at Twister Creek.  I swear, kids are programmed to try and kill themselves to test the Darwin theory on their parents!

April 23, 2015 - 9 Months, 9 Days Old

Here's Kadin,  9 months old, getting a little mini-bath in the sink…

And this was Kadin in September, 7 weeks old, getting a full bath in the same sink!

April 22, 2015 - 9 Months, 8 Days Old

Kadin spent the morning crawling around the floor, carrying things in his mouth, just like his furry brothers and sisters.   

We biked to our new home in the afternoon, to see Danial's daily progress.   Kadin continued to put everything in his mouth, but it looks like he's not too fond of the taste of graphite.

April 21, 2015 - 9 Months, 7 Days Old

 Kadin can spend a long time playing with the cabinet doors – opening and closing them over and over again.  Here, he's done with that and looking around for something else to get into!

April 20, 2015 - 9 Months, 6 Days Old

New block toys arrived today and Kadin had a blast knocking over towers and pyramids and anything else I tried to build.  
Honestly though, I think he still prefers to play with the veterinary centrifuge more than the blocks.

April 19, 2015 - 9 Months, 5 Days Old

 Our first mosquitos of the season!  They tend to be big and slow this time of year, and it was easy to swat off of him before it bit him.  

April 18, 2015 - 9 Months, 4 Days Old

It was the EMT Practical Exam today.  Kadin was at the Station with me from 8 am unti 5pm and did amazingly well with all that stimulation.  Of course, he had plenty of people willing to hold him and carry him around while I was busy being injured!

April 17, 2015 - 9 Months, 3 Days Old

Out with the changing table (which he'd started to view as a launching pad) and in with the crib (which he now views as a trampoline with a chew bar).  It's right next to our bed, and he's still mostly sleeping in our bed with us, but it's a great child-proof place to plop him and hopefully we'll start napping him in here soon.  Thanks Tabitha for the lovely crib!!

April 16, 2015 - 9 Months, 2 Days Old

Kadin loves his new (to him) puzzle toy – he's finally figured out how to remove the toys; next step is how to put them back in!  Thanks to Melis for the gift.

April 15, 2015 - 9 Months, 1 Day Old

We went on our regular walk today… there is still snow on the trails but it's certainly beginning to look like SPRING!  Kadin seems to enjoy watching the trees, the dogs, the birds, and who knows what else, but he's staying awake longer and longer.

April 14, 2015 - 9 Months Old!

Happy 9 Month Birthday, Kadin!  

We were having a jolly fine day, until Kadin decided to celebrate his birthday by pulling an all-nighter!  I think I fell asleep before he did, sometime after 4am.

April 10, 2015 - 8 Months, 27 Days Old

Kadin had to get a vaccine today.  He was a champ for the shot but got a 104ºF fever that night and the poor guy was miserable.  He was back to 100% normal in the morning; yay!

April 9, 2015 - 8 Months, 26 Days Old

Kadin is a pro now at standing up and even getting better at his controlled falls to get back to the ground!  He immediately pulls himself up on anything and everything.

Another day where Kadin came to EMT class with me.  He loves seeing all the people, especially Mia!

April 8, 2015 - 8 Months, 25 Days Old

We love Kadin's "new" high chair from Melis, so he can have his own place at the dinner table.  He has a fast hand and has been known to make a quick grab for my plate and slide it to the floor!

Kadin has finally figured out that books are more than just square chew toys!  He's looking at the pictures and playing with the furry, feely parts, like the lion's mane.

Busy veterinary day, starting off with a lil' baby goat — not sure which kid was more fascinated by the other – Kadin or Roan!

This was the only photo taken today… a typical shot where I am trying to see if he's asleep or not.  He obviously was!

Another sleeping photo, but taken the next day, and a lot cuter.  It was the first time he purposefully laid his head on my belly and fell asleep.  So sweet.

April 4, 2015 - 8 Months, 21 Days Old

Beautiful afternoon fun on Whistler Glacier – flew out for a quick ski/snowboard run and to enjoy the powder as town turns into a mushy brown slush.  Kadin's first time on a glacier and he now has his own pair of shades!

 We forgot his little baby headset and the adult one kept squishing his cheeks, which looked even funnier when he blew raspberries all the way home!
