January 30 - February 1, 2018 - Isla Mujeres, Mexico (3 years 6 months) – Last 3 days.

Kadito has already learned to never turn your back on the ocean!  Either that or he just really doesn't want to leave.

Kadito enjoys a strawberry liquado (smoothie) at the beach-side restaurant.

Laughter is such a beautiful thing.  As is that cute little "tickle button"!

He is pointing to some boats in the ocean, I think.  This was when we took the golf cart around the island to check out some other sites.  

At the turtle sanctuary, we saw turtles of all ages getting prepared to be released to the wild.  This is the second stage – outdoor pools.

We bought a little baggie of turtle pellets to feed them (and the gulls).  You can see one little pellet at the edge of the pool between Kadin's foot and the turtle.

This is the final stage for the turtles before they are released – an enclosed part of the ocean.  Lots of fish and gulls and there was even a catshark in there which you can get a quick glimpse of at the end of the video.

We went out for lobster for our last dinner in Mexico and Kadito was the Lobster Monster.  Grrrh!

And Abuela Baiba was the Lobster Eater!  Yum!

Our ferry ride back to Cancun to get to the airport and start the long journey home.  He's such an awesome travel buddy.

July 1 - 13, 2017 - Almost 3 years old…

Kadin meets Wrangell, and it's the classic "boy meets dog"… instant best friends.  We need to make some future play dates with him! 

When I wasn't looking, Kadin grabbed the bottle of Braggs and chugged it.  And loved it.  He definitely goes for the salty stuff!

As the swing came to a stop, Kadin decided to try to jump off it like the big kids do… but he jumped at the wrong time and belly flopped right onto his nose.  Owww!  After the crying stopped, I asked him if I could take a picture and he smiled and said yes. 

Clean up time! 

A beautiful summer day and we went canoeing on X Lake… Kadito spotted some trolls on a distant beach, so we decided to go visit and share our lunch with them.

October 21 - October 27, 2015 - 15 months and 1 week

Mish mash collection of random photos from the week... no special events, but a nice time hanging out around home and town.

One minute he's a rascally rabbit, the next, he's an adorable sleeping baby... 

Mmm, I love rice! 

Bummer it's a blurry photo, but we had a fun family evening playing at the playground downtown.

July 22 - 28, 2015 - 1 year and 2 weeks

After swimming, Kadin chilled in the sunny grass by the trail while we packed up the bikes to ride home.  My little mountain man…

Naked napping has its risks (see previous post), but it sure is sweet.

July 14, 2015 - 1 YEAR OLD!!!!!!!!!!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KADIN!!!!!!!

We picked up a piece of yummy vegan cashew mango coconut "cheesecake" from The Flying Squirrel Bakery and then flew out to Danial's cabin and picked blueberries for a while before heading in for dinner and to celebrate.  Yum!!

July 8, 2015 - 11 Months, 24 Days Old

Woo Hoo!! We had a mellow day, doing chores and laundry, when suddenly, in the evening, Kadin changes everything and starts WALKING!!!!!!

So, I got the very very first steps on stills - I was trying to just get a photo of him standing, so I moved the little car out of my way and as I went to take the photo, he looked up at me and then started walking towards me!  I love his facial expressions as he's moving along!

A few minutes later we got the video…

June 28, 2015 - 11 Months, 14 Days Old

We went on an afternoon hike around X-Y Lakes and Kadin stayed awake the entire time, watching everything, listening to the birds, and grabbing for any spruce boughs or old man's beard that was hanging in his reach.

June 23, 2015 - 11 Months, 9 Days Old

Kadin shows off his fifth tooth to come in, and the sixth is on it's way, which explains the constant drool and fussiness lately.  Doesn't stop him from enjoying his food though!

Bucky still shies away from Kadin when he is crawling around, but if he's strapped into a chair and spilling food all over the place… well, then he's Bucky's best friend!

June 13, 2015 - 10 Months, 30 Days Old

Should I grab my right foot during lunch?  My left?  Hey, I can grab both at the same time!

     

May 21, 2015 - 10 Months, 7 Days Old

Kadin learned all about airplanes at Story Time today, and we got to make a little airplane afterwards to give to MamaD.  Kadin loved hanging out with the other kids!

He still had a lot of energy left after the library so we stopped at the playground, where he could crawl around a bit, watch the other kids, and eat wood chips.  

May 17, 2015 - 10 Months, 3 Days Old

We just got a little wooden walker, on loan from Rachel until her little girl is old enough for it.  Can't wait to try it at home or on something other than grass.  Kadin is starting to try to stand without holding onto something, and I think he's just itching to start walking.  

May 14, 2015 - 10 Months Old!

Kadin was coming down with a cold today so we laid low at the house and then took a mellow walk in the evening with Danial.  Forgot to snap a photo, but that's ok because I've been wanting an excuse to post these from a few days back…

Guess if I'm hungry, I can just help myself!  Tastes just as good without the water…
