January 8-11, 2018 - Tulúm, Mexico CAMPING at PANCHO VILLA (3 years 6 months)

Our new camp was a huge area right on the beach with lots of shade from the palm trees.  My little monkey felt right at home!

So here, Kadin LOVES his shrimp and wanted me to take a picture of it but wanted to close his eyes and hide his face.  Grr.  BUT HE IS SOOOO CUTE!!!

We took a boat ride out to a reef, so that I could go snorkeling and Kadin could be on a boat.  I think he was more excited than I was!
Kadin watches me in the water, as I come up from snorkeling to check in on him.  He was as happy as a fish in the sea!

Kadin preferred staying closer to shore where the breaking waves were but would occasionally swim out beyond the breakers and just float around.

Hard to capture the view from our tent in a shaded grove of palm trees right on the beach.
No naked monkeys to be seen (I think he was asleep).

Yay!  Coatis playing at the entrance to the Tulúm ruins.

Kadin was tired and possibly bored for most of the exploring of the ruins.  It made a lot more sense that night when he fell asleep at 7pm with a fever.  Fortunately, he was back to his energetic self the next day.
Definitely, the iguanas were a favorite at the ruins!

September 16 - September 22, 2015 - 14 months and 1 week

The week of being sick, sick, sick.  We both had high fevers and felt miserable until we finally went to the doctor's and got antibiotics.  What a vacation!
And the worst of it was, our germs spread to Nana (Baiba) and Great Grandma Alise.  Nana did fine, but it is truly scary for a 94 year old to be sick!!!  So glad mom (G-G Alise) is also on her way to recovering!

Lots of baths, lots of sleeping, lots of potty training sums up the week.

September 9 - September 15, 2015 - 14 months

We start our journey, jumping on the train from Talkeetna to Anchorage, admiring the amazing autumn colors as we pulled out of town.
Kadin loved travelling without his car seat - standing up to look out the window, watching the world zip by...

He could even stand up on the seats and run around in the aisles!
Eventually the excitement wore him out, but he could even sleep in odd positions since he wasn't strapped in a 5-point harness!
At the airport, I found a decent sized rock that Kadin had slipped into his diaper bag - as if my bags weren't heavy enough with all of his other toys!
We finally made it to Boulder, Colorado, for my friend Lia's wedding. It was hot as Hades and Kadin preferred running around half naked most of the time there!
Kadin at the rehearsal dinner, held at a beautiful tea house designed in Tajikistan.
The lovely bride and groom, Lia and Ben, during their beautiful ceremony.

And the lovely Kadin, on the day of the wedding, studying all of the guests and their fancy outfits and parasols.
The day after the wedding, when we were both sick as dogs with high fevers and congestion and a nasty cough, having to travel by bike and 3 buses to our hotel in Denver.  Kadin still managed to smile at me whenever possible.  Such a little trooper!

July 5, 2015 - 11 Months, 21 Days Old

Still recovering from our colds, both Kadin and I were tired and grumpy most of the day, so no big photo shoots today.  I was soon napping alongside him!

July 4, 2015 - 11 Months, 20 Days Old

Not a very exciting 4th of July.  We were both snotty and tired and laid low most of the day.  Soon after this, Kadin napped for 3 hours.  At least he could still smile despite the snot and sleepiness and congestion.

April 10, 2015 - 8 Months, 27 Days Old

Kadin had to get a vaccine today.  He was a champ for the shot but got a 104ºF fever that night and the poor guy was miserable.  He was back to 100% normal in the morning; yay!

February 27, 2015 - 7 Months 13 Days Old

It was the sickie parade today, Kadin and I both had colds, Annie is just slow and arthritic, and Buck has a sprained paw, so we kept the walk short and sweet.
At least it was warm out (32ºF or so) and it felt nice to get a bit of fresh air.  And it's 5pm and still plenty of daylight! Yay!

February 10, 2015 - 6 Months 27 Days Old

Kadin had crazy rosy cheeks this morning, either a reaction to the orange wedge he sucked on last night or a sign that he's infected with the same cold I have.  Poor guy.  He sure did enjoy the orange though.
And although he's a bit fussier, he is still happy to smile for the camera!
