May 17-31, 2018 - 3 years 10 months

Birch's favorite time with Kadin is when the little rambunctious boy is sleeping!

Buenos Días Kadito!  He's always a bit grumpy in the morning and especially in front of the camera.

We finally hung the birdhouse Kadin made at the Kachemak Bay Shorebird Festival.  We're a bit late in the season, but hopefully a chickadee will decide to make it a home.

Out on a hike in the forest around town and the river and Kadito climbed up on the hump at the base of this spruce and posed for a perfect portrait.  ¡Te quiro tanto Kadito, mi monito!

July 1, 2016 - July 3, 2016 – 23 months and 3 weeks – PART 2: FOREST FAIR IN GIRDWOOD

Ama went off to visit other friends in Copper Landing and we packed up our camping gear and headed to Girdwood for the Forest Fair.

Here, Kadin and I stop at Burrito King in Anchorage for dinner before driving one more hour south.

Friday evening, we set up camp and catch the last music show.  The popcorn booth was closed, but Kadin pulled his best labrador puppy imitation and begged a shirt full off of a nice lady and her daugher (you can see them in the background).

The next morning, Kadin was heading off to the festival in true Girdwood style – naked!  I managed to throw a quick outfit on him and we went off to hear some more awesome music (and Kadin was on the look-out for more popcorn).

Chillin' at the Youth Stage

Met up with Regan, Ben, and their kids, Nia and Teo.  Amazing to see how big they are!!!

We met up with Tressa too, although I didn't get a photo of her, she took this one as we listened and danced to more music.

Tressa and Regan both only stayed for the day, and in the evening I grabbed dinner for Kadin and I and went into the beer garden for a drink before heading back to camp.  I should have know that the beer garden was where all the kids were!  Kadin ate a bit of dinner, spied a young girl with popcorn, and had a new best friend.  Soon, there were about 8-10 kids playing in a mini-forest grove with the parents chatting, enjoying their beers, and keeping an eye on all the little ones.  AWESOME!
(BTW, Kadin is just in front of the kid with the tye-dyed shirt, not quite in view in this photo.)

More kids in the beer garden...

After the kid party broke up, I was about to head to our camp, when Kadin spotted another group of "kids" with popcorn.  He ran over to a group of 8+ college friends and asked the big blonde guy to pick him up.  What a hoot!  They were originally from Kodiak, seemed tickled pink to hang out with a silly toddler, and Kadin hung out with them for more than an hour.
He actually hung out with one more group of adults who also had popcorn, but by then he was finally fading and we crawled home and read stories in the tent until we both passed out around midnight.

Our final day at the Fair and we finally got our own GIANT bag of popcorn!

November 25 - December 1, 2015 - 16 months and 2 weeks

It was supposed to be a "napping" walk, but Kadin struggled out of the carrier, took his hat off, and was practically dancing in the streets!

We got lots of snow this week.  My poor moose is up to his antlers in it!

Kadin and his brother Birch are happy to watch the chickadees from the window instead of going out in -10ºF weather.
The next day was warmer, so we went for a little hike around our pond and within minutes of taking these photos, Kadin was fast asleep.

Another favorite indoor activy of Kadin's is snacking on a bowl full of snow!  I now have 10 snowballs in the freezer to pull out as snacks here and there.  I've "spiked" them with juice, but so far, he actually prefers them plain.

November 4 - November 10, 2015 - 15 months and 3 weeks

Winter-time:  snuggling cozy at home, pizza-eating in our now-quiet town, and sledding down the road to go dig out our car from under 8 inches of snow...

June 12, 2015 - 10 Months, 29 Days Old

Good Morning Sleepyhead!
And then, during his mid-day nap, I got to (just about) finish the flooring!  Still have to fill in a few gaps and seal those areas and then we can move back upstairs.

May 7, 2015 - 9 Months, 23 Days Old

Leisurely morning wake-up, as Kadin stretches in his little peapod sleeping bag (thanks Mom, for the dual purpose Halloween costume!).
Hanging out in the tent, listening to raindrops outside, Kadin sports his WMI outfit in perfect style.

March 4, 2015 - 7 Months 18 Days Old

Melis is back in town and got to see the "milk coma" first hand, since it's not something she ever got to witness with her own daughter, Judy, who had more energy than she knew what to do with.

December 17, 2014 - 5 Months 3 Days

Here Kadin is after a long day biking, first to the Squirrel, then out to dinner at the Pub.  He's half asleep but not quite ready to succumb until he had his before-bedtime meal!

November 22, 2014 - 4 Months, 8 Days

We biked down to meet Danial at the TAT hangar and let Kadin snooze in the carrier while we had a late lunch.  It was a fun outing, but somehow this is the only photo we took today.

These two shots are from a few days later but I just had to share how cute he is when he's sleepy!

November 21, 2014 - 4 Months, 7 Days

Big day today - drove into Anchorage to have Kadin's hemangioma looked at (it's a benign skin lump made up of abnormal vessels and will disappear by the age of 5 or so).  Then lots of town errands (recycling, groceries, hardware store, lunch, etc) and back home by 10pm.  Looks like the driver is a lot sleepier than the passenger!

The reality is not every baby picture is flattering... Kadin in yet another milk coma moment.

September 8, 2014 - 56 Days Old

Danial had off today and took care of Kadin for most of the day, while I saw a vet appointment and just got some other things done.  So, midnight came around and I realised I hadn't taken any picture of him yet!  These two pictures I took just after his midnight feeding.
(They aren't the best quality because it was actually really dark and I had to do quite a bit of adjustments to them...)
