May 4, 2016 - May 10, 2016 - 21 months and 3 weeks

The week started with mellow outdoor fun around the house and XY Lakes...

Kadin was surprised to see me strip down and jump into the lake… He started to take his socks and shoes off but one foot in the water and he changed his mind!

The next day was an early morning to day care, where I scooped him up asleep in the bed and needless to say, he wasn't too happy about it!  

(Although, of course, he had a blast playing all day at the day care center.)

And the following day was such a long day full of fun that I couldn't just pick 2-3 photos.  

Morning:  First we flew out to Polly Creek and headed out to the mud flats to go clamming.  It was a 4 plane outing and Kadin's best buddy Sky was there so she and Kadin played in the mud to their hearts content, getting as dirty and wet as they wanted.

Afternoon:  The tide started coming in quick, so we went back to the beach and had lunch.  As the tide came in faster and faster, it was time to get the planes off the beach and Kadin snuggled down in his seat for the flight.

Late afternoon:  We were having so much fun, we decided to keep it going and land on a sand bar by ourselves and play in the afternoon sun.  Kadin loved crawling and rolling in the warm sand and so did we!

Early Evening:  Keeping the momentum going, we got back to Talkeetna and had to clean the clams.  Meanwhile, Kadin snacked on his favorite – Popcorn!

Late evening:  And of course, once the clams were prepared, we all met up for an impromtu party and feasted on them.  Kadin and Sky were pretty wired by then (also, someone gave them icecream…) and were running around outside playing with anything and everything!   I love how just a small patch of woods can be a forest for a child.

January 27, 2016 - February 2, 2016 - 18 months and 2 weeks

We went to Fortuna and the Arenal Volcano area and did some nice hiking at the base of the volcano. Kadin loved climbing up the jagged lava trails.  By now, we've realized how fun a hostel/hotel is with a pool and try to find one at every place we stay!

                  

Our last stop was one of my favorites - a little beach called Playa Hermosa, not too touristy, lots of Tico visitors, and a mellow ocean to play in.  Kadin made friends with a little girl about the same age and they loved running around and showing each other how to do different things.  Too cute!

May 24, 2015 - 10 Months, 10 Days Old

The only photos I took today were of a mama bird and her three little fledgelings following her around, watching her pick through the spruce cones.  Poor Kadin didn't get a photo today.  But that's ok, I have more than enough others to fill in for me…

May 21, 2015 - 10 Months, 7 Days Old

Kadin learned all about airplanes at Story Time today, and we got to make a little airplane afterwards to give to MamaD.  Kadin loved hanging out with the other kids!

He still had a lot of energy left after the library so we stopped at the playground, where he could crawl around a bit, watch the other kids, and eat wood chips.  

May 20, 2015 - 10 Months, 6 Days Old

It was our fourth swim class and Danial was able to come so we got photos in the pool!  You can see from the photos, at this stage, he is learning to master the crawl.  Of course, he's already mastered crawling on land!

May 5, 2015 - 9 Months, 21 Days Old

It was an errands day in Wasilla, and for the first time, Kadin got to ride in the kiddie seat of the cart.

Then in the evening, we had our second swim class, here he is, getting his warm-up exercises in.  (BTW, he really isn't a red-head, but I guess he has highlights in the right light…)

May 4, 2015 - 9 Months, 20 Days Old

Kadin's bike helmet arrived today and we had a trial run in the house.  He didn't mind it at all, and the way he climbs and pulls himself up on everything, maybe I'll be using it in the house as well!  (btw, the mess in the corner is Kadin's doing — pulling everything off the couch)

April 22, 2015 - 9 Months, 8 Days Old

Kadin spent the morning crawling around the floor, carrying things in his mouth, just like his furry brothers and sisters.   

We biked to our new home in the afternoon, to see Danial's daily progress.   Kadin continued to put everything in his mouth, but it looks like he's not too fond of the taste of graphite.

April 20, 2015 - 9 Months, 6 Days Old

New block toys arrived today and Kadin had a blast knocking over towers and pyramids and anything else I tried to build.  
Honestly though, I think he still prefers to play with the veterinary centrifuge more than the blocks.

April 10, 2015 - 8 Months, 27 Days Old

Kadin had to get a vaccine today.  He was a champ for the shot but got a 104ºF fever that night and the poor guy was miserable.  He was back to 100% normal in the morning; yay!

March 14, 2015 - 8 MONTHS OLD!

Another beautiful day in San Francisco, spent with Richard, checking out his new digs and then picnicking by the bay.  Happy Birthday, Kadin!

March 13, 2015 - 7 Months 27 Days Old

Woke up in the morning, had a fun shower, and played with the little doggies in the sunshine on Ilana's back deck.  

Later that night, we had a potluck and it was super fun to get to see everyone.  Kadin loved all of the attention although he eventually was a bit overwhelmed and soon needed a nap.
