And today, we did Storytime at the library and then he fell asleep on my lap as I was returning clients' phone calls.

We had to go to Wasilla today for a bunch of chores, but got a quick little walk by the slough before heading home.  Kadin was in a good mood, even though he looks grumpy in the photo.... 

Annie was definitely in a good mood — there's not really any snow left in Wasilla and she loved it!

I got Kadin a lap harp of his own since he loved the guitar and violin so much.  So far, so good...

Of course, as soon as we are back home, I get busy with other things and this is the only photo I took today... He loves his new rattle — made out of corn instead of plastic!

We're back in Alaska and Danial was excited to see how active and rambunctious our little boy had gotten!  I suspect he'll be climbing his way out of here before too long...

March 25, 2015 - 8 Months, 11 Days Old

Last day of the trip - got to get a few dips into the ocean while Sonia or her sister Zoe kept an eye on Kadin.  Here is Zoe with her daughter Mia, who was so excited to hang out with "Baby".

And here we are, preparing for a 4 hour direct flight to Anchorage.  Fortunately, we had an aisle seat this time and our neighbor was a father of an 8 year old with another one on the way.  He loved getting some baby time and was a HUGE help!  

March 24, 2015 - 8 Months, 10 Days Old

We went to visit the Nature Center, where Kadin went to chew on the antler, just like his older brother Buck does! 

For our last night at the campground, we moved into a yurt — cushy padded mattresses, protection from the wind, electricity, and heat were all pretty luxurious for us!

Beautiful sunset on our last day at Cachuma Lake.  

And here is the cutest video ever of a Kadin gigglefest... the trigger to this laughter was me blowing up a Thermarest!

I've been trying to get a video of him pulling himself up to standing but he's usually using my knees to do it and it's too close for the video!  So here's just a cute little face to look at instead.  He is a non-stop mobile little monster these days!

Beautiful day hanging out at camp.  Kadin is definitely happy to be outside and warm!  

The oak tree was at our campsite and has an acorn woodpecker nest in it.

We went on a little hike to find the Carpinteria Tar Pits, and ended up finding a harbor seal rookery instead!  The Tar Pits was really just a sunken meadow and some oozing tar by the beach.  

We then took a break in the shade, and Kadin is practicing pulling himself up to standing - he's so proud of himself!

Another sunny day at Carpinteria.  And the Pacific is still too cold for anything but the littlest toe-dipping!

Kadin's morning nap, as he falls asleep reading the back issues of Mothering magazine... 

Yay!  I'm ready to play!

On second thought, the Pacific Ocean sure is cold, maybe I'll just watch the birds for a bit...

Guess it's time for another nap!

March 17, 2015 - 8 Months, 3 Days Old

Kadin and I spent 5 days camping at Carpinteria State Beach Campground.  It was a bit crowded for me, but he loved watching all of the other kids in the area and was at home in the spacious tent Sonia lent us — so big I could easily stand up in it!

March 16, 2015 - 8 Months, 2 Days Old

 Sonia, Kadin, and I woke up to a beautiful morning at Veteran's Memorial Park Campground, near Monterey.  Kadin took his post-bottle nap en plein air and seemed pretty darned content.  The long ride south was a bit of a drag for him, but he did enjoy our stop at Piedras Blancas, to see the elephant seals!

March 15, 2015 - 8 Months, 1 Day Old

Way too much fun today!  Suzy, Ilana, Michele, Sheryl, Vic, Kadin, and I all went down to Bean Hollow Beach near Pescadero for some more fun in the sun.  Along with us, came Lady Bug, Pinky, Ziggy, Cherry, Vinnie, and Megan.  

March 14, 2015 - 8 MONTHS OLD!

Another beautiful day in San Francisco, spent with Richard, checking out his new digs and then picnicking by the bay.  Happy Birthday, Kadin!

March 13, 2015 - 7 Months 27 Days Old

Woke up in the morning, had a fun shower, and played with the little doggies in the sunshine on Ilana's back deck.  

Later that night, we had a potluck and it was super fun to get to see everyone.  Kadin loved all of the attention although he eventually was a bit overwhelmed and soon needed a nap.

March 12, 2015 - 7 Months 26 Days Old

Kadin got to spend the morning with Cole and his baby-sitting buddy, a little girl with an amazing head of hair (I don't know her name).

After so much social time, Kadin spends the afternoon curled up with a book on Emily and Jen's guest bed, while I recover from a sprained knee (injured by playing on a rug with a baby!)

March 11, 2015 - 7 Months 25 Days Old

Kadin had a social day today, playing in a playground during the day and then getting to meet Cole, Emily and Jen's baby who was born just a week after Kadin.  Fun, Fun, Fun!
