October 14 - October 20, 2015 - 15 months

A fun autumn week, hanging out around home and work.

This is the second of 3 injuries to the same eye within 2 weeks.  A stick, a table edge, and a gravel road.  What an intrepid explorer!!

October 7 - October 13, 2015 - 14 months and 4 weeks

Guess not much happened this week… but dinner with Kadin is always entertaining.  He absolutely loved rice noodles, with butter, salt & pepper, or just plain, he couldn't slurp them up fast enough!

At first he wasn't so certain about the sushi but he does love rice and although I didn't get a shot of it, he loved poking his fingers through the nori ring and picking out the rice.  It was the first time we had sushi - eggplant, cream cheese, and rice.  Next time we are going with asparagus as well.

September 30 - October 6, 2015 - 14 months and 3 weeks

Brrrr… we had a full week of winter in September, with mixed snow and rain.  Kadin got to try out walking in the snow with his yellow rubber boots. 

When it was raining, we'd stay inside and Kadin loves his new (to him) horsey rocker. 

September 24 - September 29, 2015 - 14 months and 2 weeks

The first set of pictures are from a fun little hike we did at the toe of the Kahiltna Glacier, a big difference from the 80ºF weather in Colorado and Missouri.  Fun mud and rocks to play with, happy dogs running around, beautiful fall colors, and some nice fresh black bear tracks! 

The last photo is two days later, after Kadin bonked his lip on the door handle of our wood stove.  Ow!

September 22nd and 23rd - the last two days of our trip to Jefferson City

Kadin, Baiba, and I were all feeling better and Kadin got his first taste of pure sweetness and sugar with a butter pecan icecream cone I shared with him.  (and all over Uldi's pants!) 

Our last day, saying our good-byes to mom, who was finally feeling a bit better to sit up for a few photos.  With everyone being so sick, she didn't get to spend nearly enough time with Kadin but they had a few fun days together and Kadin made mom laugh more than once for sure!

Back on the plane, heading home.  It was an all day flight, and he had lots of energy, but everyone was kind and he was happy, so it all worked out well...

September 16 - September 22, 2015 - 14 months and 1 week

The week of being sick, sick, sick.  We both had high fevers and felt miserable until we finally went to the doctor's and got antibiotics.  What a vacation!  

And the worst of it was, our germs spread to Nana (Baiba) and Great Grandma Alise.  Nana did fine, but it is truly scary for a 94 year old to be sick!!!  So glad mom (G-G Alise) is also on her way to recovering!

Lots of baths, lots of sleeping, lots of potty training sums up the week.

September 9 - September 15, 2015 - 14 months

We start our journey, jumping on the train from Talkeetna to Anchorage, admiring the amazing autumn colors as we pulled out of town.

Kadin loved travelling without his car seat - standing up to look out the window, watching the world zip by... 

He could even stand up on the seats and run around in the aisles!

Eventually the excitement wore him out, but he could even sleep in odd positions since he wasn't strapped in a 5-point harness!

At the airport, I found a decent sized rock that Kadin had slipped into his diaper bag - as if my bags weren't heavy enough with all of his other toys!

We finally made it to Boulder, Colorado, for my friend Lia's wedding. It was hot as Hades and Kadin preferred running around half naked most of the time there!

The day after the wedding, when we were both sick as dogs with high fevers and congestion and a nasty cough, having to travel by bike and 3 buses to our hotel in Denver.  Kadin still managed to smile at me whenever possible.  Such a little trooper!

September 2 - September 8, 2015 - 13 months and 4 weeks

Sheryl and her Mom were in town and we went on an amazing scenic flight around Denali.  We left Kadin at home because he had a bit of a cold.  Didn't stop him from wanting to play in the bed of the truck with the dogs - needless to say, we did NOT drive with him back there! 

August 26 - September 1, 2015 - 13 months and 3 weeks

Kadin is helping me pack the car, holding on to two DVDs, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. 

Picking the yummy but sour high bush cranberries at our house.  One exploded on his face when he bit into it! 

Sheryl and her Mom visited!  Kadin was happy to share his rocks with her.

August 19 - August 25, 2015 - 13 months and 2 weeks

Random moments around the house…

Those are cycling arm-warmers being used as toddler leg-warmers! 

Kadin is starting to play with Buck!  He brings Buck the toy and waits for him to grab it and then lets go and laughs hysterically.

August 12 - August 18, 2015 - 13 months and 1 week.

A few random photos from the week….

Here is Kadin, sleeping with his best bed-buddy, Birch.   Even though Kadin sometimes grabs his feet and his tail, Birch still purrs and loves being around him.  

Another random day, reading his books, and playing with toys scattered everywhere. 

A fun TAT party at Paul's house, with a bunch of little ones playing on the trampoline.  Mostly super fun, with the occasional head-bonk between kids and a few seconds of crying… then, back for more!

Kadin also surprised everyone at the party by sticking his fingers in the cocktail sauce - and liking it so much he went back for seconds!
