I think he's adorable in this picture, even if he does look a bit like a "special" child.  :-)
He is grabbing the elastic loop in his teeth and pulling on it…

June 29, 2015 - 11 Months, 15 Days Old

I had to bring Rivet into Wasilla for a tooth abscess and Kadin spent the day at day care so although I have pictures of Rivet, I didn't get one of Kadin today.  The one posted is from yesterday, the 28th of June. 

Drilling her infected premolar.

Doped up doggie recovering from anesthesia.  She'll be so much happier with that nasty tooth gone!

I swear I don't treat my child like a cat!  He finds the cat toys and plays with them all on his own, ignoring all the nice baby toys I have for him.

June 28, 2015 - 11 Months, 14 Days Old

We went on an afternoon hike around X-Y Lakes and Kadin stayed awake the entire time, watching everything, listening to the birds, and grabbing for any spruce boughs or old man's beard that was hanging in his reach.

June 27, 2015 - 11 Months, 13 Days Old

First he tries to get outside, but finds "his" doggie door is closed, so then he goes and looks for a snack in the doggie bowl… denied! 

June 26, 2015 - 11 Months, 12 Days Old

Kadin hangs out in and around the car while I pack up the things I need for the evening.

He has found the car keys and is trying to figure out where they go to get this contraption rolling!

The goof ball either sees a plane in the sky or maybe one of the dogs?  Anytime he sees something exciting, he raises up his arm in a theatrical way and stares off towards it.  So freakin' adorable.

A bike ride is still the best way to have Kadin fall asleep. 

June 24, 2015 - 11 Months, 10 Days Old

We went to the grand opening of our new library and Kadin had a blast!  Pulling books off the shelves, walking around with the help of a little chair, and playing with lots of kids his age and up.

June 23, 2015 - 11 Months, 9 Days Old

Kadin shows off his fifth tooth to come in, and the sixth is on it's way, which explains the constant drool and fussiness lately.  Doesn't stop him from enjoying his food though!

Bucky still shies away from Kadin when he is crawling around, but if he's strapped into a chair and spilling food all over the place… well, then he's Bucky's best friend!

June 22, 2015 - 11 Months, 8 Days Old

Kadin had a great time hanging out by Tigger Lake, watching the dogs run around like crazy and enjoying all of the rocks and pebbles to put in his mouth.

Meanwhile, back at home, our cat Eleanor has decided she prefers her own home in the canopy of the ferns to sharing one with dogs and a baby.  I get her to come in every day or two for food and a bit of petting.

June 20, 2015 - 11 Months, 6 Days Old

Kadin has two walkers to choose from — of course, I prefer the wooden one, but as long as he doesn't chew on the plastic one I guess it's ok.  The alligators are slower and easier, but can't turn.  The car is faster and scarier but can go in circles instead of running into walls.

June 19, 2015 - 11 Months, 5 Days Old

It's so nice to wake up in the morning seeing the beautiful big Alaskan sky and the hills that go on and on forever.  We all enjoyed a mellow morning breaking down camp and heading back to town.

Kadin loves being at the controls in Danial's plane — let's go flying! 

On a side note, today was the first time he realized we were up high in the sky and on take off he actually got nervous and clung to me and avoided being by the window.  So fascinating how they learn things… must be from all the climbing up our ladder!  On the flight home, he was much calmer.

June 18, 2015 - 11 Months, 4 Days Old

Woohoo, we were able to skip town in the afternoon and spend a glorious day on the tundra by a lake.  The dogs chased ground squirrels and we went for a little paddle with the pack raft.

June 17, 2015 - 11 Months, 3 Days Old

We started the day with Kadin deciding to climb up our loft ladder!  He did it all on his own, although, obviously, Danial kept a close spot on him.

And we ended the day with a few visitors to our baby pool!!! 

One youngster just had to jump in!

June 16, 2015 - 11 Months, 2 Days Old

Fun times in the Playland Emporium Tent.  It was so hot today, we had to go around naked!

June 15, 2015 - 11 Months, 1 Day Old

I spent the night and this morning on an EMT shift at the north edge of the fire.  It was a quiet night, but scary to see the flames so close to the road and sad to hear of all of the property and acreage burnt. 

The rest of the afternoon, I was pretty tired and let Kadin entertain himself with Danial's dog door.  Out he goes!

I'm coming back in now! 

June 14, 2015 - 11 MONTHS OLD!

First we spent the morning, hanging on the porch doing things society warns us not to do…

Then we packed up our version of the mini-van, and set off for Danial's place.  It was already 80ºF and I got my work out pulling two dependents along, one in front and one in back of me. 

The reward was getting to cool off in the baby pool for a bit!  So fun!

Should I grab my right foot during lunch?  My left?  Hey, I can grab both at the same time!

Good Morning Sleepyhead!  

And then, during his mid-day nap, I got to (just about) finish the flooring!  Still have to fill in a few gaps and seal those areas and then we can move back upstairs.

After Kadin ate dinner, he was so messy, we even had to wipe down his head… which led to wet hair which led to sculpting a mini-mohawk.

Another day I didn't get a photo.  No excuse; but here's a cutie from 2 days ago as he is learning to drink his formula from a cup instead of a bottle — milk moustache!
